The Content We Produce Every Week
Aside from news and posts about fascinating astronomical and space-related events, we provide other educational and amusing materials, such as videos, quizzes, and infographics, every week. Today we’ll tell you a little bit more about this content and the process of its creation.
To provide our users with diversified and noteworthy content, we constantly look for new formats. For example, about half of a year ago, we started to make astronomical quizzes. They cover a wide variety of topics and are designed to engage more people in the world of astronomy. We choose questions of different difficulty levels to make a quiz interesting for astronomy newcomers and people with more advanced knowledge. To get from our users as much feedback as possible, there is a “like” and “dislike” feature in the quizzes. This way we learn what types of questions are more warm-welcomed by the audience.
A video is an excellent way to share information in an easy and graphic way. In terms of videos, we:
- create tutorials to help people learn all features of Star Walk 2 more quickly;
- make teasers for upcoming updates or brand-new applications
- produce educational astronomical and space-related videos. This is, probably, the most energy-consuming (for us) but entertaining (for our users) way.
Usually, we link them to future noteworthy astronomical events, but currently, we’re planning to produce common-themed educational videos as we already did for Star Walk Kids.
And last but not least — infographics. This is a relatively new format for us but it’s promising. For infographics, we come up with the most common astronomy-related questions — for example, facts about the March equinox or the largest meteorites on Earth. Infographics are great for those who don’t really enjoy reading and consume information in a graphic way more easily.
