Working with VITO Navigator II
VITO
Navigator II is a Pocket PC application which works with almost all types of
GPS receivers using NMEA 0183 or SiRF protocols,
connected to the PDA either through serial port or through Compact Flash slot.
VITO
Navigator II provides you with:
- enhanced
information about your current position
- heading/bearing on the destination waypoint
- track and waypoints recording for further use in navigation
- indication of GPS receiving conditions
- import of recorded tracks/points from Geocaching .loc and text .csv files
On the first launching of Navigator
II you will see the registration dialog. If you already have your activation
key, you may activate your program at this point, else
you press the "Later" button and find yourself in GPS Setup menu.
The choices
are:
Autodetect
- lets your
Pocket look for GPS device automatically
(make sure that your GPS receiver is connected!)
Manually
enter GPS setting
- if you already know such parameters of your GPS receiver as:
Port
Baud Rate
Parity
Data Bits
Stop Bits
you may
enter them at this point and thus skip the autodetection
procedure
(make sure that your GPS receiver is connected!)

In this dialog you may create a new
waypoint (pushpin). If GPS signal is good and the coordinates are resolved,
then their values will be automatically put into the "Lat" and "Lng" fields. Note: these fields are also editable, so
you could create a pushpin in the place you've never been before...
Here you may choose from existing
pushpins the destination point to be used for the "Course" dial in
the upper panel or for Destination point option in the middle panel.

After you have purchased Navigator
II you will receive an e-mail with an activation code. Please, make sure your
device is connected to Internet, start Navigator II, type in your activation
code from the e-mail and press Activate now.
In case you
can't connect to Internet from your pocket PC, activation will take more time:
click Activate off-line and carefully read instructions in the pop-up window. After
you've performed the necessary action you will receive an e-mail with the
necessary instructions for completing your activation.
Note: as
you can see activating your Navigator II on-line is much easier than the
off-line variant which can take considerably more time. We recommend you
on-line activation.
