Introduction
VITO FindMe is a free GPS utility for Pocket PC Phone Edition
that will help your friends immediately find your whereabouts just by sending
an SMS.
Your friends want to know your whereabouts
After
installing VITO FindMe you will need to set a
codeword and give it to your friends for them to find your location. They just
send you an SMS with this codeword and in return receive an SMS with your
coordinates. Now all they need to do is to input the coordinates into the
search box at Google Maps and see your location.
You want to know your friends' whereabouts
If you want
to find out current location of your friends who use VITO FindMe,
ask them for their codeword and send it via SMS to their Pocket PC Phone
Edition. In return you will receive an SMS with their coordinates that can be
looked up at Google Maps.
Activation
VITO FindMe is a free GPS utility. You need to
go to http://www.vitotechnology.com/en/products/findme/
to get an activation code.
To activate:

connect
your device to Internet+
· start VITO FindMe
· go Menu > Activate
· press Activate button, type
into the empty field the activation code from the email you received from VITO
Technology after purchasing VITO FindMe, choose “I
have Internet” and press Activate button below.

Getting started
Note: this application works only on Windows
Mobile 2003(SE)/ 5.0/ 6.0 Pocket PC Phone Edition with built-in GPS receiver.
Download VITO FindMe from vitotechnology.com. After having installed this applet on your device, there will appear a creeping line in the Today plug-in, press it to start program and make settings.
Before FindMe starts determining your coordinates it is necessary
to set a GPS connection.
GPS basics
If you have
a built-in GPS receiver you may make GPS settings in FindMe.
Start up the program, choose GPS>press the green icon in the middle of the
screen>Scan. The program starts searching and it identifies the built-in GPS
receiver. there appears window with a question
"GPS found on # port: @******. Use it?" You may continue using the
program by pressing Yes button or continue the search
of another GPS receiver pressing No. When you found the receiver, tap Yes to continue using the program.
BlueTooth GPS
To use VITO
FindMe with Blue Tooth GPS you may need to make some
additional steps before starting-up.
1. Before
starting the program, turn BT radio on.
2. Check
that BT sees your GPS in BT Manager.
3. Tap the
option Create outgoing Port.
4. Start up
the program.
5. Choose GPS>Scan.
6. It recognizes the connection with
Manual GPS Setup
If you want
to set up GPS manually, choose window Manual and set # of your com port, and baudrate of your GPS receiver. And tap Ok button.
Firstly, you need to enter a codeword.
Secondly,
you should set your outgoing mail account which is used to send your location
additionally via email if an SMS is received from a contact with an email.
Thirdly,
you may protect these settings with a password.
Fourthly,
you should tell your friends this codeword, so that when they send SMS with
this word on your device with built-in GPS, your device start detecting by
using GPS your location and send your friend the following SMS “Go to maps.google.com and input
******(coordinates) into the search box”.

If your friends or relatives want to
know where you are at the moment they should send an SMS with the codeword on
your Pocket PC Phone Edition with built-in GPS receiver. Beforehand you should
install VITO FindMe on your pocket PC.
Your device
will automatically start detecting your coordinates, if the GPS signal is
strong enough it will determine your coordinates and send your friend an SMS
“Go to maps.google.com and input
******(coordinates) into the search box”. All they need do is to input the
coordinates into the search box at Google
Maps and see the location.
You want to know your friends' whereabouts
If you want
to find out current location of your friends who use VITO FindMe,
ask them for their codeword and send it via SMS to their Pocket PC Phone
Edition. In return you will receive an SMS with their coordinates that can be
looked up at Google Maps.
