Track Recording

After you have accepted the GPS connection you will be automatically taken to the recording of a new track. It starts recording a track which has a name year-month-date. If you record several tracks a day the name will be year-month-date_number of a track.

Above the track there are current speed and height indicators.
Below the track there are time and covered distance since start.

Over the track you can see 5 flashing indicators displaying the current status of your movements:
· receiving a new coordinate point from GPS receiver
· standing still
· slowing down / acceleration
· uphill / downhill
· passing by the most recent pushpin (new lap)

To create a new track click Menu > Track > New.

To pause or resume recording the track, tap Menu > Track > Pause/ Resume.

Your tracks will be saved in the Google Earth (see screenshot leftwards) format (.kmz files) on the largest storage card you have (or if there is no storage card then it will be saved on the main memory card) in the folder My Documents / ActiveTrace.

Note: Before recording a new track make sure the  satellite icon in the upper right corner is of green color that indicates connection between your GPS  receiver and satellites.

You may put a pushpin only while recording a track. To do this tap Pushpin in the bottom left corner of the screen. You may enter the name for a pushpin and tap Ok.

There is a blue bar at the top of the screen with the name of the track you are viewing in the moment.

On the left side of the screen there is a color bar indicating either the speed or the altitude. If it indicates the speed of your movements there is an icon with an image of a running man, if it indicates the altitude, there is an icon with an image of mountains. To change it you need to tap an icon with an image of a running man or mountains. OR you may tap Menu and tick Speed or Altitude.

2.      Pushpin.

3.      Crossing the pushpin.

4.      Disconnect.

5.      Break.

If you go Menu> Points, then there will appear a blue bar at the bottom with the names of these points. By clicking arrows you can move from one point to another.

If you want to see icons of these points you should tap Menu > Show icons.

Another possible option in the track view mode is to make selection of a part of the track to analyse the statistics of the selected part. First of all, put a tick Menu>Points, then tap Menu> Selection> Start selection, after that choose the point you want to start the selection with (it should appear in the blue bar at the bottom of the screen), then tap again Menu> Selection> there you will have a choice what to do next:

Start Selection (you will start selection from the beginning);

Keep Selection (you will keep choosing the part of the track from the marked point);

Remove Selection (you will stop making selection);

Deselect all before (the part of a track before the selected point will be deselected);

Deselect all after (the part of a track after the selected point will be deselected).

The selected part will be colored, the deselected part will be of grey color. After you have made a selection you may tap Menu> Statistics, and there will appear information about the selected part of a track (speed, distance, time, altitude, etc.).
